Rebecca Wuu – Musical Life Competition Juror (piano)

Rebecca Wuu, a native of Fremont, California, is a pianist, music teacher, and audio engineer. She graduated from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance in the studio of Yong Hi Moon, and also earned a B. M. in Recording Arts and a Master of Arts in Audio Sciences. In 2021, Rebecca completed her Master of Music Degree at Mannes in New York under the tutelage of Professor Eteri Andjaparidze. She is currently a DMA candidate at Stony Brook University in the studio of Gilbert Kalish.

A highly sought after piano teacher, Rebecca has been teaching piano since 2013, and enjoys working with young kids through adult students. She is currently a faculty member at the Bronx Conservatory of Music and the 92NY School of Music. Her students participate in competitions and have placed in events such as the American Piano competition and the US International Music Competition. Rebecca believes in a holistic teaching approach with strong foundations in technique and theory.

As an audio engineer, she has recorded world-renowned artists including Itzhak Perlman, Garrick Ohlssohn, and the Peabody Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Marin Alsop. She was an audio engineer at the Brevard Summer Music in 2014 and audio assistant at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley, CA in 2015. 

Other previous notable teachers include Hans Boepple and Jed Galant. She has played in master classes by Jon Nakamatsu, John Perry, and Ruth Sleczynska. Wuu has performed solos and collaboratively across the U.S., including at DiMenna Center, Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie,

Outside of music, Rebecca enjoys running, knitting, and sewing.
