Originally from the Soviet Union, pianist Emilia Oskotsky began her music studies at the age of eight, when she first discovered her passion for music. Upon immigrating to the United States with her family as a child, she continued her musical studies as a scholarship student at the Lucy Moses School in New York, and later at Hoff Barthelson Music School under the direction of Miyoko Lotto. Mrs. Oskotsky holds a B.F.A. from the conservatory at S.U.N.Y Purchase and a M.M. from the Manhattan School of Music, majoring in piano performance. Her major musical influences and pedagogies have been Stephanie Brown, Peter Wiley and Paul Ostrovsky, Miyoko Lotto, and Nina Svetlanova.

Mrs. Oskotsky is the recipient of various musical awards and accolades in national and international competitions. The Memorial Scholarship Committee Competition jury panel reviewed her performances as “having total musical involvement, and power, mature playing”. She is the recipient of the Harry Bachrach Fine Arts Scholarship and the winner of Artists International, which resulted in her solo Carnegie Hall solo debut in 2008. Mrs. Oskotsky has performed throughout the United States and Europe, including Suomen Opisto Recital Hall in Finland, Merkin Concert Hall, Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center.

In the media sector, Mrs. Oskotsky has worked as a musical consultant with PBS on a musical film “You Cannot Start Without Me”. She has since undertaken multiple projects in the music media sector in classical music.

As an educator and teacher, Mrs. Oskotsky has worked in New York’s top private schools, including the Hackley Music Institute, and Browning School where she served as a teacher and program coordinator. Her piano students have been various competition winners, received top scores in NYSSMA and several have gone on to pursue higher education in music and performance.

In her work with youth development, Mrs. Oskotsky has worked tirelessly to champion young talent and support up and coming musicians through providing guidance and performance opportunities. She Co-Founded Rondo Young Artist, an organization which she headed for a decade to help facilitate performances, competitions, festivals, and other events in renowned concert halls and globally. Mrs. Oskotsky is excited to continue her work in Musical Life Foundation, a not-for-profit organization she has Founded. Musical Life Foundation’s mission is to maintain and develop the integrity of classical music while supporting young musicians, composers, and new music.

Emilia resides in Larchmont, New York, where she maintains a full and very successful piano studio, and lives with her husband, and two children.
